Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta
BBBS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Founded in 1960, BBBS currently serves more than 2,800 children annually, making it one of the largest affiliate agencies in the United States.
The newly developed website allows BBBS to directly connect with volunteers, supporters, and potential mentors in the Web 2.0 design. The site includes social networking tools for Bigs to build deeper relationships within the community of volunteers while helping BBBS continue to educate, train, engage, motivate, and retain mentors. Other features of the site include the ability for mentors to post their profiles, blog, search for activities to do with other matches, upload videos, and share photos of their experiences as Big Brothers or Big Sisters.
